Close to 200 people have been invited to an informational presentation for prospective investors in a ?6 million budget feature film to be set in Bermuda.

Producers of the film Dream Bermuda will provide opportunities for employment for people in Bermuda, advertising, product placement, inward investment and tourism," said Mr. Denman.

"It will be the first feature film made in Bermuda about Bermuda". The filmmakers have already met with tourism minister David Allen in London last March and received a letter of support from the Government.

"We want it to be made in Bermuda but to get it made we do not only need financial help but we need the support of the Bermudians. Now we've got the support of the Government but we really need more people to know about it and the business community to get behind it".

Mr. Denman said three sponsorship packages have been developed as well as traditional direct equity offers.

The BUEI presentation will include a six minute trailer of the film shot in England but with a Bermuda backdrop, a ten minute video presentation by the film's marketing manager Graeme Mitchell and a video presentation by Bermudian actor Earl Cameron who has been cast to play a taxi driver in the film.

Mr. Mitchell has worked on product placement deals for the last three James Bond movies and other recent clients include the makers of Leonardo DiCaprio's Entrapment.

Financial advisers Tony Wright Jones and Rod Rippen, as well as Mr. Denman and director/producer Andy Jordan and Joanne Diaz who originated the project will be on the Island for the presentation.

Ms Diaz lived in Bermuda over 25 years ago, working as a dancer and a choreographer. The genesis of A Dream of Bermuda, The Dot which was performed at City Hall and included dozens of local personalities including Lee Harvey, Reno Drake and King Trott. It was restaged a few years later at London's Mayfair theatre with a new cast.

Mr. Denman is a respected writer and heads up development for Euroscript, a European Union project which provides support for film and television writers.

Ms Diaz who wrote, composed, directed, choreographed and starred in the musical is playing a key role in the making of the film - a contemporary romance with flashback scenes set in the late 1800s.

When asked Mr. Denman said probably about half of the film will be shot in Bermuda. "It's integral to the story that it is set in Bermuda so you will actually see Bermudian locations - buildings, beaches."

The film is planned as an independent project and the filmmakers have formed a limited partnership, Dream Bermuda Ltd.

Mr. Cameron's wife Barbara, and Lucinda Spurling are the project's Bermuda representatives.
