Police name death crash victim

Police have named the rider killed in Bermuda?s seventh road fatality this year as 32-year-old landscaper Eric Morrison.

Colleagues at Greenway Landscaping paid tribute to the Jamaican who had made a big impact in his short time with them before his untimely death on Sunday.

Greenway boss Manuel Bothelho said: ?He was a nice person and a nice worker. He got along with everyone, everybody loved him.

?I am not just saying that because of what happened. It is true what they say ? only the good guys go.

?He was great to have around. I have mostly Portuguese workers but they took a liking to him and at the weekends take him to their homes to cool out.

?They got along great.

?He had only been with us for two and a half months. I am still shocked. His mother was in church in Jamaica when she heard the news.?

Mr. Morrison was pronounced dead on arrival at hospital on Sunday lunchtime.

His 35-year-old passenger suffered minor injuries. Police are still piecing together what happened although one neighbour said his helmet came off in the smash.

It?s thought Mr. Morrison lost control while driving north along Glebe Road, Pembroke near Bishop Spencer School at about 11.50 a.m.

Firecrews used a saw to free Mr. Morrison from the wreckage as his life ebbed away.

Witnesses should call P.c. Wiltshire on 295 0011.
