Krystle Maya Babon, aged 15, was a pillion passenger on a motorcycle being driven by her friend Jay Steede in March 2005. She was killed when Steede, overtaking at speed, collided with a car. Steede, who was in breach of his curfew at the Co-Ed facility, ran from the scene. He was jailed for three years for dangerous driving.

Miss Looby said: "Just the other day, I found a picture of Maya and myself when we were babies, standing in front of a crib. For a pretty long period of time we were pretty close.

"She was on the back of a bike. The guy that was riding it lost control. He left her at the scene of the accident. If you were supposed to be somebody's friend, how can you leave her like that?"
