George A. Scott is thought to be Progressive Labour Party's candidate for the Warwick North Central district.

A former firefighter at the Bermuda International Airport, Mr. Scott was elected as chief labour organiser for the Bermuda Industrial Union in March 2002 and he went to work at the BIU full time in September of that year.

The 47-year-old, who also held the post of assistant bell captain at the now closed Marriott Castle Harbour Hotel, was born in Bermuda and raised in Warwick Park, Warwick.

He was educated at Northlands Primary School, Mount Saint Agnes Academy and first ran for office in Warwick West in 1989, where he lost to UBP candidates Quinton Edness and Sir John Sharpe.

He ran unsuccessfully again in 1993 in Warwick West and in Paget West in 1998.

When contacted, Mr. Scott declined to comment on whether or not he had been accepted as a candidate because the PLP has not made any official announcements to that effect.
