BTC announces 14 new jobs on Island

Employment boost: Bermuda Telephone Company is creating 10 new jobs and relocating four specialist positions back to the Island

Bermuda Telephone Company (BTC) is to create 14 new jobs on the Island after the launch of a new apprenticeship scheme.

The telecoms firm has taken on ten apprentices and will relocate four overseas internet service provider (ISP) specialist jobs back to Bermuda.

The company got 200 applications for the apprenticeship scheme, ranging from school-leavers to older people looking for a career change.

Robin Seale, the CEO of BTC and Digicel, said: “BTC, like sister company Digicel, has always sought to prioritise Bermudian expertise for all roles and especially with customer facing functions given consistent and clear consumer feedback on preferring local knowledge and understanding when seeking assistance.

“Therefore, we are delighted with the response to our new apprentice scheme and to be creating even more jobs for Bermuda with our ISP recruitment.”
