Tanker diverted

A bulk tanker has diverted to Bermuda and will arrive this afternoon to drop off a sick crew man.

The Dimitris C, a Panamanian registered vessel carrying cobblestones was heading from India to Newark when the 34-year-old Ukranian crew man began suffering stomach pain. The ship is due in at 3 p.m.

Knapsack taken

A thief stole a Louis Vuitton knapsack and wallet from a Warwick home in the early hours last Tuesday.

A Police spokesman said the complainant, of Forest Hills, woke at 2.25 a.m. to find that someone had broken into his home. The knapsack and the wallet contained personal items.

And last Monday Police attended a St. George's home after a thief stole 16 DVDs and jewellery.

A Police spokesman said the complainant thought the incident, at Bourne Drive, occurred some time between 8 p.m. on Sunday and 5.45 p.m. on Monday.

Intruder flees

A Paget woman awoke to find a man standing in her bedroom on Wednesday morning.

A Police spokesman said the complainant woke at about 3.30 a.m. and saw the man. She screamed and the man ran away with $20.

She described the assailant as black and 5ft 6ins. He had either short braids or dreadlocks and was wearing a grey shirt.

Quarters stolen

A quantity of quarters was stolen from a White Sands, Paget home between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Thursday.

Appeal over boat

A sailboat that has run aground in the Harbour Road area has led Marine Police to appeal for information.

Police said they are either looking for the owner or information who is the owner of the yacht Solway.

The officers reported seeing the vessel on the rocks near Cedar Hill, Warwick, on January 29 at 10 a.m.
