A thief broke into a house and took keys so he could steal $50 from inside a car.

Police said the victims went to bed at 11.30 p.m. at their Harrington Sound Road, Smith's home.

When the owners woke up, they found their keys were not on the kitchen counter, but were now inside the car with money missing from the dashboard.

A bottle of liquor and a kitchen knife were also taken from the home.
