As MPs race to complete a heavy agenda before the summer recess, Parliament will be meeting tomorrow and Friday - with a possible third session next week Monday.

Island legislators will be debating amendments to the Criminal Code and the Telecommunications Act.

And a number of bills granting tax rebates to hotels under the hotel concessions Act will also be pushed through at tomorrow's sitting.

Last week, the House agreed to grant the Palmetto Hotel development the concessions which could amount to around $1 million in rebates.

Cambridge Beaches, The Reefs, Surf Side Beach Club, Hamilton Princess and Southampton Princess hotels are also applying for concessions under the law. Mr. Simmons said that the Tourism Minister and his shadow counterpart had agreed to deal with the other hotels at tomorrow's session.

The Senate also meets Wednesday for the first time since last week's by-election. Two bills will be considered by the Upper Chambers - the Age of Majority Act, which lowers the age of legal adulthood to 18, and a bill giving backdated pensions increases to civil servants.

Senate president Alf Oughton said he was not sure whether the Serious Crimes Commission Report will be debated tomorrow.
