Police chase ends in arrest

A Hamilton Parish man gave Police a chase last Thursday. Michael Johnson, 39, pleaded guilty to failing to pull over for Police.
The court heard from Crown counsel Robert Welling that on January 10, Police attempted to stop a suspicious rider travelling west in Hamilton Parish.
The chase continued through Hamilton Parish with Johnson finally pulling over at Shelly Bay Beach.
Upon stopping, Johnson reached into his pocket pulled out and threw a black package towards the beach area.
While in custody, Johnson said: "I didn't want to get arrested for the spliff I had."
Police searched the beach for the package but were unsuccessful due to the rough surf and bad weather conditions.
Johnson apologised to the court for his actions and was fined $500.
