At the last update Isaac was 1004 nautical miles south east of Bermuda moving in a northwesterly direction at 14 knots.

The maximum sustained winds were 95 knots with gusts to 115 knots, but it is expected to strengthen.

The closest point of approach is expected to be three p.m. on Friday when the storm passes 437 nautical miles to the east south east.

It is likely there will be large surf as a result of the storm, creating dangerous swimming conditions.

Close on Isaac's heels is Hurricane Joyce, which is a category one storm, and also not expected to adversely impact Bermuda.

Joyce was packing sustained winds of 75 knots with gusts to 90 at the last update.

Joyce is heading in a westerly direction at 12 knots and its closest point of approach to Bermuda will be at three p.m. on Saturday when it will be 1,344 nautical miles away.
