Keith Glasgow, 36, of Deep Bay Lane, Pembroke, who has a history of similar offences, was sent to prison for a year.

Police prosecutor Sgt. Donald Grant said the complainant was with her daughter at her Frog Lane home on Saturday. As they were dressing to go out, the girl pointed out the window at Glasgow masturbating on a wall.

They called the Police but the defendant fled. He was later arrested for indecent exposure and taken to Hamilton Police Station.

STOLEN CD PLAYER SOLD TO BUY DRUGS CTS Stolen CD player sold to buy drugs A 28-year-old Devonshire man was sentenced to nine months in prison after he pleaded guilty to breaking and entering and theft.

Garth Hayward admitted smashing a window at a private residence and stealing a pack of cigarettes and a CD player worth $400.

Hayward was arrested later that day and told Police that he sold the CD player for drugs.

Hayward, who is unemployed, was already serving a nine-month prison sentence for breaking and entering.

He said he thought he had already been before the court for the offences.

Senior Magistrate the Wor. Will Francis reminded Hayward that the crime took place one week after the defendant appeared in court on his last offence, which was three months prior to his appearing in court yesterday.

The judge said: "The events should have been fresh in your mind''.

Lawyer Ms Patricia Harvey, representing Hayward, told the court that because the defendant is addicted to drugs it was possible that he might not have remembered the events. And he could have been under the impression that the case was tried previously.

The judge sentenced Hayward to nine months in prison to run concurrently with time already being served.

FORGING CHEQUE LANDS MAN IN JAIL CTS Forging cheque lands man in jail A 36-year-old Smith's Parish man was sentenced to six months in prison yesterday after he pleaded guilty to forging a cheque.

Terry Minors of Spanish Crescent denied stealing a cheque and receiving a stolen cheque. But he admitted to the related charge of uttering a false document.

In November, 1994, a cheque book was reported missing by an American couple visiting the Island.

Later, a man accepted a cheque endorsed by Minors and gave him $100. But after realising the cheque had names on it other than that of Minors, he asked for his money back.

Minors refused, but on January 30, while he was being arrested for other offences, he admitted endorsing the cheque.

Police prosecutor Sgt. Donald Grant told the court that writing comparisons were used to identify the defendant as the forger.

Minors has been held at Westgate Prison for the last four months.

Tyrone Berkeley of Victoria Road, Sandys Parish, was fined $250 after he admitted to unlawfully entering a neighbour's home.

Prosecutor Sgt. Donald Grant said Berkeley was seen sneaking around on the porch of his next door neighbour's house on April 30.

A young woman who was in the house at the time of the incident told Police that at 12 p.m. she was upstairs studying when she heard a noise coming from downstairs.

When she went down to investigate she saw Berkely peering around the front door of the house and called the Police.

Berkely, who is unemployed, apologised to the court for his actions and stated that he would like his victim to forgive him.

In addition to the fine, the Wor. Edward King gave Berkely a six-month suspended prison sentence.
