Post Office warns of mail delays

Somerset Bridge residents will experience delays in mail delivery until further notice, due to "illness of their postal delivery person", the Bermuda Post office said yesterday.

A spokesman said special arrangements are in place this weekend to deliver mail in postal codes SB01 and SB02.

"The BPO is asking residents in that area to please tie up or restrain all pets to prevent injury to the postman," he said.

"The BPO reminded the public that their mail can be collected from the Somerset Bridge Post Office during normal working hours until their area's delivery service returns to normal."

¦ International mail deliveries to Bermuda will be delayed in the coming weeks because of a cutback in the number of flights from the US.

Postmaster General George Outerbridge apologised to Post Office customers and said: "We continue to look for ways to improve our service and I welcome feedback from the general public."
