The final issue from the Bermuda Philatelic Services for 2002 will be launched tomorrow and it celebrates the noble concept of world peace.

The stamps will be presented to the Governor by Postmaster General George Outerbridge and Philatelic Services Coordinator Stanley Taylor during a ceremony at Government House in the morning.

The two-stamp issue depicts a dove - the international symbol of peace - carrying a cedar branch with berries in its beak.

The stamps were designed by Sheila Semos using United Nations materials on World Peace Day, which was celebrated earlier this year.

The 35-stamp features a dove facing left on a royal blue background while its 70-cent counterpart shows the dove facing right against a dark navy drop.

The release of the final issue for the year was timed to occur immediately before the Remembrance Day holiday on Monday to best highlight the theme, according to a press release from the Department of Communications and Information.

The stamps are the Philatelic Bureau's fourth issue of the year.

The next issue will not occur until January 23, 2003.

Stamp orders may be pre-paid for collection or mailing on the day of issue.
