Island-based firm buys Macau supermarket chain

A Bermuda-based company has bought a chain of supermarkets in Macau.
Dairy Farm, part of the Bermuda-based Jardine Matheson empire, has acquired San Miu supermarkets, which operates 15 large stores in the former Portuguese colony, near Hong Kong.
Dairy Farm is a pan-Asian retailer, which, together with associates and joint ventures, operates more than 6,100 retail outlets across the region, employing 100,000 people with total 2014 sales of $13 billion.
The firm is incorporated in Bermuda and has a standard listing on the London Stock Exchange as its primary listing, with secondary listings in Bermuda and Singapore.
