A 40-year-old Sandys Parish man was fined a total of $2,000 yesterday for marijuana possession near a school.

Magistrates' Court heard that Neville Tucker, who pleaded guilty, had been caught with 0.3 grams of marijuana which was wrapped in a small paper twist in the Court Street area near a home school.

An additional $1,000 was added to his $1,000 fine for being in close proximity of the school.
