Singer jailed for parole violation

A local singer was sentenced to five months in prison yesterday after violating her parole.

Nicole Francis, 34, from Railway Trail, Border Terrace in Devonshire was given a two year probation earlier this year for stealing $5,000 worth of jewellery ? which she claimed to have returned.

When she failed to appear for a court appointment on August 22 and skipped various probation meetings, a warrant was issued for her arrest.

Her probation officer told the court how she happened to see Francis and overheard her telling someone she was going to a local store to ?f**k someone up?. She called the Police and Francis was arrested at the store.

Francis ? who is also known as Lady Tyson ? asked Mr. Tokunbo to ?work with her? as she was about to leave for New York for an audition. Mr. Tokunbo said probation should be her priority.

?You need to reflect on your life and your career,? he said and revoked her two-year probation.

An angry Francis was escorted from the court, mumbling ?whatever? as she left.
