Bacardi marketing boss acclaimed

Recognised: Bacardi chief marketing officer Dmitry Ivanov

The marketing chief of Bermuda-based Bacardi has been listed as one of the top in his field in an international awards scheme run by professional magazine Advertising Age.

Chief marketing officer Dmitry Ivanov has made the magazine’s “40 under 40” list, which recognises achievement in younger executives.

Mr Ivanov, 38, was appointed to the post in January, after a stint as vice president, global category director of rums.

In his previous role, he spearheaded the worldwide “Bacardi: untameable since 1862” advertising campaign and the just-launched new packaging design for the firm’s rums.

Mr Ivanov said: “I get energy from challenging the traditional marketing rule book and am inspired by the opportunities being created every day in the world of digital.

“It’s an honour to be included on this list. It really is an impressive group of work and talent.”

Bacardi CEO Mike Dolan said the firm was delighted at London-based Mr Ivanov’s success.

Judann Pollack, deputy editor of Advertising Age, said 0f the awardees that “while their achievements are varied and their experience diverse, all our 40 under 40 have one thing in common — they are smart young innovators who will be driving business for years to come.”
