The second season of ?Tony n? Tina?s Wedding? opened at the Fairmont Hamilton hotel yesterday.

The play is the longest running off-Broadway comedy ever.

Aside from Bermuda and New York, it has been performed in Las Vegas, Philadelphia, Chicago, Detroit, Maui, Calgary and Vancouver.

In Bermuda, the cast and crew have a regular Tuesday evening wedding date with guests.

Dani Lee Trott and David Durham of Yhoshi Productions have returned as the show?s producers and said they are looking forward to a second successful season.

Mr. Durham said: ?For us, as Yhoshi, it is pretty exciting because it is an all-star cast.

?We also cast a few new members and everyone is mostly Bermudian and we are really excited. As one of the producers, I am really happy to be working with them.?

New faces mix with familiar in the cast.

?Khalilah Smith is back as Tina, Nadanja Bailey, is playing Vinnie Black, Mark Anderson aka Cybil Barrington is acting in the role of Joey, the brother of the groom, Ed Christopher, from Prestege will be our new wedding singer and Tony Bari?s band is back again,? said Mrs. Trott.

?Our new Tony is Dan Dorrington, Leighsa Darrell-Augustus is the mother of the bride again, Nicole Burgess returns as Donna ,one of the bridesmaids, and Tauria Raynor will be back.

?One new bridesmaid will be Jennifer Burrell, who will be the pregnant one. She was with us last year, but she has moved into another role.

?Also we have a new nun, Sister Albert Maria, being played by Renneka Hill. She is a wonderful, very friendly addition.

?Cotty Outerbridge is playing the father of the groom and we have Stuart Doyle, who is back again as Father Mark. We also have Stephan Harold, who plays Michael Judd and Oleg Razinkov, as Dominic one of the groomsmen.?

Guests of ?Tony n? Tina?s Wedding? arrive as though they are doing just that ? attending a wedding.

?When you come in you witness the nuptials, which are amazingly hilarious,? said Mrs. Trott.

?It is a ceremony like no other that you have seen before and from the wedding we move into the reception. There you are the guest and there is a full buffet, champagne toasting, live entertainment and dancing.

?It is a whole night of fun with two crazy families that have never gotten along.?

The two families have a history of rivalry which makes for raucous action.

?The wedding guests are the audience,? Mrs. Trott said. ?The cast members sit with them, they talk to them and they get them up to dance. It is a lot of fun and it is definitely an awesome show and it is (even) better this year.?

The original director from Las Vegas, Larry Pelegrini, is on Island and Carol Birch, who plays Madame Nunzeo is also a director.

Currently the show runs only once a week but it may be expanded this year.

?I believe that we are taking special bookings this year if corporate clients want to book it for summer or Christmas parties,? said Mrs. Trott.

The play takes place in the Moongate Ballroom and has been adapted ? or Bermudianised ? for local flavour.

?We have added little twists and twirks to each story line,? Mrs. Trott said. ?Especially the bride?s family. It is an interracial marriage ? it is a white guy marrying a black girl ? and the black family have been Bermudianised a lot so that it is familiar to the locals ? and it is a lot of fun.?

Even those who saw the production last year will be in for some surprises.

?We have added in a little twist here and there that was not there last year, so there will be a few things that people will notice have been done differently,? Mrs. Trott said.

Mr. Durham said in the US productions the groom?s father owns a strip club.

?But the Bermuda twist is that the groom is just so cool and he doesn?t want any problems,? he said.

?The brother said ?look, you are mine now? and the dad has a stripper girlfriend and then the nun, Renneka Hill, plays an excellent part ? she is one of the favourites in the play ? she is doing a great job with that role.?

Ms Trott added that it was definitely not a show to be missed, even if you attended previously.

?Every seat in the house gets a different view because it is interactive and there is so much going on you never catch it all the first time,? she said. ?So you have to come back again, and again, and again.

?We had so many repeat guests and they either saw something they missed the first time or they had a laugh they didn?t have the first time around.

?You get a full dinner, wedding cake and there is a cash bar for additional drinks.?
