Christmas Spirit: Joy Fubler and Ruth Skinner of the Lighthouse accept Christmas stockings from Gloria Pearman, president of the Bermuda Quilters' Guild.
This Christmas, members of the Bermuda Quilters' Guild put their crafting skills to good use by stitching up much-needed funds for local charities. Pictured here is Guild vice president Vonda Burgess presenting a cheque to Trevor Madeiros of the Bermuda Diabetes Association. A Christmas party raffle held earlier this month raised $2,000 for the Bermuda Diabetes Association.
Also pictured are Guild president Gloria Pearman giving quilted stockings to Ruth Skinner and Joy Fubler of The Lighthouse, a charity that cares for people affected by HIV/AIDS. The Guild presented 30 hand-made quilted stockings filled with goodies to the Lighthouse, and also put together a big bag full of new tee shirts and stuffed toys destined for children in Haiti.
