Bermuda welcomed in the year 2002 with three new babies yesterday - all born within two hours of each other.

The first to arrive was Tanika Carter at 2.40 p.m. He weighed in at exactly eight pounds.

Second on the scene at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital was baby girl Terri Burgess, at 3.29 p.m., weighing a healthy eight pounds and five ounces.

And lastly at 4.27 p.m. Danieka Christopher arrived. She weighed in at eight pounds, two ounces.

The babies, their mothers and hospital staff are understood to be recovering.
