Sandys woman denies assault charges

A Sandys woman accused of unlawfully assaulting a man denied the charges when she appeared in Magistrates’ Court this morning.

Tiara Hayward, 24, allegedly assaulted Philip Dwayne Doars in Sandys on June 20 last year.

Ms Hayward also pleaded not guilty to wilfully and unlawfully damaging a screen and several glass panes in a front door belonging to Mr Doars on the same date.

Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo granted $2,000 bail and set a trial date for May 21.

• Also in court today, a 56-year-old Sandys woman denied stealing groceries worth $27.79.

Marian Minors allegedly stole one pack of Bounce dryer bars, one package of codfish fillets and one package of tilapia fillets from the MarketPlace store in Sandys on December 9, 2013.

Mr Tokunbo granted $1,000 bail and set a trial date for April 29.
