Bermuda in Delta’s Sky magazine

Flying high: Bermuda’s attractions and beauty are praised in Delta’s Sky magazine

Bermuda’s beauty spots and tourist offerings take pride of place in a popular airline’s in-flight magazine.

Millions of readers will be able to see a 26-page profile of the Island in the December issue of Delta’s Sky publication.

The feature focuses on four of Bermuda’s tourism hubs — St George’s and St David’s, Hamilton, Dockyard, and the South Shore beaches — and looks at the Island’s lure as a leisure, business and wedding destination.

The magazine, estimated to reach 5.5 million readers during the holiday season, also touches on shopping, culture and culinary options around the Island, and explores activities such as golf, fishing and flyboarding.

More than two dozen local businesses will be featured in the special profile, with about 20 being advertisers, including the Bermuda Tourism Authority.

The insertion is part of the Authority’s new marketing strategy, according to chief executive officer Bill Hanbury.

“We are very pleased to see this idea come to life in such a vibrant way,” he added.

“We began working with Delta Airlines and tourism industry stakeholders on this opportunity back in August.

“We believe those who decided to participate will be very pleased with the final product.

“Even those not specifically highlighted in the profile stand to benefit from the five million airline passengers inspired to fly to Bermuda as a result of the magazine coverage. The size and success of this feature is in direct correlation to the power of partnership.

“The interest and involvement of multiple Bermuda stakeholders and businesses resulted in such a large feature.

“It’s a marketing victory for the entire country and we are grateful for the support.”

Sky magazine is free to Delta’s passengers but can also be found online at deltaskymag.com and through the Fly Delta App.
