Kick-off brought forward
Sunday's domestic schedule in order that the local teams and sporting public in general can watch Bermuda's World Cup second-round qualifying tie against El Salvador which will be telecast by the Bermuda Broadcasting Company at 3 p.m.
The adjustment to the starting times means that all First Division games will now start at 1 p.m. instead of 3 p.m. Three Second Division games will begin at 1 p.m. while two have been brought forward to an 11 a.m. kick-off.
The games, which have been brought forward for a morning start, are at venues where a double-header is scheduled. At Southampton Oval, Southampton Rangers take on Devonshire Cougars while at White Hill field Port Royal entertain Vasco.
"With the World Cup being televised here in the island we wanted to help the clubs maximise their attendance and at the same time permit the public the opportunity to watch their country in action without a further erosion of the domestic progress,'' said BFA administrative assistant Joe L. Brown.
The remaining domestic schedule during the World Cup matches will not be affected because the starting times in Jamaica and Canada are much later.
According to Brown the game in El Salvador on November 8 is scheduled to be televised at 5 p.m. while the one in Canada on November 15 is 5.30 p.m., both local time.
All Premier League matches scheduled for Sunday have been postponed as has tomorrow's Commercial Division match between Island Rangers and Robin Hood.
