Bermuda-based staff rise through the ranks at Allied World

Allied World Assurance Company Holdings, AG, has promoted a dozen Bermudian-based staff, the insurer announced yesterday.

The promotions are effective immediately, although some are pending immigration approval.

In the meantime, Frank D’Orazio, president of Allied World’s Bermuda and international insurance platform, said: “We are pleased to announce promotions for many of our Bermuda-based employees.

“Their demonstrated leadership and commitment to the company has paid off and their continued diligence is an asset to our team. Our excellent reputation on-Island is a direct result of the work of our employees and Allied World’s Bermuda platform continues to remain a strong force of production for the company.”

Through its subsidiaries and brand known as Allied World, the company is a global provider of innovative property, casualty and speciality insurance and reinsurance through a global network of offices and branches.

In actuarial and modelling, Arie Haziza has been promoted to senior vice-president, head of catastrophe risk analytics. Mr Haziza joined the company in 2008 as an actuary.

Sandy Wu has been promoted to senior vice-president, head of capital modelling. She joined the company in 2009 as assistant vice president, modelling.

?Benoit Derval has been promoted to vice president and corporate actuary after joining the company in 2009 as an assistant actuary.

In claims, Lita Saltus has been promoted to senior claims analyst, property. She joined the company in 2003 as a claims assistant.

?Najee Woods has been promoted to senior claims analyst, property after joining the company in 2005 as a claims assistant.

In finance, Gareth Tavares has been promoted to vice president, financial planning and analysis. Mr Tavares joined the company in 2007 as a financial analyst.

In internal audit, Damion Wickramage has been promoted to vice president, information technology internal audit. He joined the company in 2005 as an information technology auditor, operations.

?Melody Johnson has been promoted to vice president, project management office manager. She joined the company in 2004 as a business analyst in the IT department.

In underwriting and insurance, Sue Cabral has been promoted to assistant vice president, healthcare, after joining the company in 2002 as a junior underwriter in the healthcare department.

Jaime Peixoto has been promoted to senior underwriter, professional liability. She was originally an administrative assistant in the professional liability department.

Andrew Osborne has been promoted to underwriter, healthcare. He joined the company in 2012 as an assistant underwriter in the healthcare department.

In underwriting — reinsurance, Rachael Ashford has been promoted to vice president, speciality reinsurance, after joining the company in 2005 as an underwriting assistant in the international treaty department.
