Derval Johnson, a 37-year-old Jamaican passenger on The Song of America , said he had the drug for personal use.

Johnson admitted that on May 16 he knowingly brought 1.55 grams of cannibas onto the Island. He also pleaded guilty to possessing drug equipment.

Senior Magistrate the Wor. Will Francis fined Johnson a total of $250.

DRUGS IMPORTED CTS Drugs imported A quarry worker received six months in prison yesterday in Magistrates' Court for importing 49.8 grams of cannabis with a street value of $4,250.

Seventeen cylinders containing marijuana were found in Morris Brangman's luggage when he arrived at the Civil Air Terminal.

Brangman, 37, of Church Dale, Smith's Parish told Senior Magistrate the Wor.

MONEY BAG STOLEN CTS Money bag stolen A 29-year-old mother who stole a bag containing $345 from a hotel was fined $400 in Magistrates' Court yesterday. Waunda Muhammed of Riviera Crescent Road, Southampton, admitted that on April 11, she walked into a shop at the Southampton Princess Hotel and stole a bag containing $345.

Prosecutor Sgt. Donald Grant told the court Mohammed went to the store to apply for work. While using a phone in the back office she saw a safe which contained the bag of money and removed it. When Police arrested her she said she took the money to buy groceries and pay bills.

CANADIAN STOLE CTS Canadian stole A 26-year-old Canadian woman was given a six month conditional discharge in Magistrates' Court yesterday for stealing a camera.

Mrs. Stephanie Clark of Bostock Hill, Paget, pleaded guilty to stealing a camera bag containing a camera worth $750.

On April 19 a visitor from Germany traveling on board a government ferry reported that she was missing the camera. Later after receiving information Police arrested Mrs. Clark on her job.

Lawyer for Mrs. Clarke Mark Pettingale told the court that she admitted to finding the camera but did not steal it, she simply failed to report that she found it.

Mr. Pettingill said that although his client "acted foolishly on the spur of the moment, she has already suffered enough embarrassment as a result of this issue''.

Senior Magistrate the Wor. Will Francis told Clarke that whether she took the camera or found it she should have returned it to the owner.

CYCLES STOLEN CRM Cycles stolen Cycle thieves struck in broad daylight at City Hall car park on Tuesday, making off with a number of bike parts.

Two Honda owners reported that parts had been taken from their bikes parked at City Hall between 8.45 a.m. and 6.45 p.m., a Police spokesman said.

A mudguard and basket were taken from a Honda 50cc bike while part of the exhaust system was removed from a Honda Scoopy.
