Keneil Alfred Ingham, 23, and Jamal Cuike Robinson, 27, were charged with the killing, outside the Champions' Sport Club on February 27, earlier this month but were not obliged to enter a plea as it is indictable.

They were remanded in custody until their next court appearance on April 3.

A third man who was injured in the fight remained in satisfactory condition at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital yesterday.

Twenty-year-old Delano Burgess of 42 Cut Road, St. George's readily admitted speeding less than a month after he was disqualified from riding.

Police caught Burgess racing at 83 kilometres per hour on St. David's Road on March 11.

Burgess was represented by lawyer Elisabeth Christopher who furnished Senior Magistrate Archie Warner with three character references.

In one of the letters, Burgess' employer explained that he would lose his job if he did not have transportation.

"He is only twenty years old and the chances of him securing another job which would provide him with the technical exposure he is getting now, would be very slim,'' Ms Christopher said.

"Not losing his job is the only consideration we are asking for.'' Mr. Warner agreed and made an allowance for Burgess to be able to drive a light truck to carry out his work obligations.

Burgess was disqualified from all other vehicles for 36 months and fined $800 for driving while disqualified, $1,000 for riding an uninsured vehicle, $250 for driving an unlicensed bike and $800 for speeding.

Officers caught 19-year-old Shanon Craig Scraders in the bus shelter 30 metres away from Paget Primary school on November 16 last year.

Scraders pled guilty to possession of .62 grammes of cocaine when he appeared in the plea court session of Magistrates' court yesterday.

The court heard that plain clothes Police officers working in the Ord Road area spotted Scraders in the bus shelter drinking beer at 1.20 a.m. According to Crown prosecutor Cindy Clarke, when officers approached, Burgess dropped a two dollar note from which fell five paper twists containing cocaine.

Senior Magistrate Archie Warner fined Scraders $600 for possession and a further $1,000 for being in the environs of a school.

MAN JAILED FOR THREATENING POLICE CTS Man jailed for threatening Police A Devonshire man was sent to prison for nine months on Monday after he admitted to threatening to have a Police officer killed.

John Sinclair Anderson, 32, plead guilty to uttering threatening words and behaving in a threatening manner while he was in custody at Hamilton Police Station on March 18.

Crown counsel Cindy Clarke described to Magistrates' Court how Anderson, of Hermitage Road, told a plain clothes officer while he was in the jail area: "I have a man coming from Jamaica and he will kill you.'' He was also alleged to have said: "I have a nine-mm gun and I've also got a machete. I'll chop you up.'' Asked by Magistrate Archie Warner if he had anything to say, Anderson said: "I was just talking crazy. They brought me in my boxers and I couldn't get my medication...'' But, after hearing Anderson had previous convictions, Mr. Warner said: "This is a very serious offence. You threatened a Police officer with death and you have a history of violence.'' "The things you said were very intimidating and I think you've got the ability to carry them out with your state of mind.

"I remember you were here in front of me just a few weeks ago for a similar offence.'' Despite Anderson's pleas for "one more chance'', Mr. Warner sentenced him to nine months in prison.

CIGARETTE THIEF BURNED IN COURT CTS Cigarette thief burned in court A Pembroke man was fined $800 in Magistrates' Court on Monday after he admitted to stealing over a thousand cigarettes.

Gary McGlan Dillas, of North Shore Road, apologised to Magistrate Archie Warner after pleading guilty to taking four cartons and 24 individual packs of cigarettes, two packs of Rizzla papers and a pack of chewing gum, collectively valued at $263.05, from the Bermuda Pharmacy on Pitts Bay Road on March 18.

The court heard how security officers -- watching on a surveillance camera -- observed the 47-year-old Dillas putting the goods into a bag.

Asked if he had anything to say, Dillas said: "I'm very sorry. It's just that at the time I didn't have anything.'' Mr. Warner said: "If that's the case, why didn't you steal food instead of all this stuff?'' Dillas was fined $800 and then brought to book for not paying traffic fines.
