DAB approves new Tucker?s Point plans
Amended plans for the new luxury hotel at Tucker?s Point were approved by the Development Applications Board last week.
Castle Harbour Ltd. was given final planning approval to build a luxury hotel, spa, ancillary facilities, waterside residential units and swimming pools.
The DAB said all construction debris should be contained so as not to spill into the harbour.
During the demolition of the existing structure, Castle Harbour Ltd. must monitor the water quality of the nearby caves.
All effluent from bathrooms, kitchens, toilets and laundry facilities will be treated and disposed of via the Tucker?s Point waste water-treatment plant, it said.
It also approved amendments to an approved subdivision, boundary adjustments and right of way for Castle Harbour Ltd.
Keyland Properties Limited were given permission to extend a private car park on the corner of Princess and Dundonald Streets, Hamilton.
However, in order to safeguard the ?amenity of the neighbourhood?, it said the permission is only granted until April 20, 2007, when the use will be discontinued and the land restored to its former condition.
Former Premier Jennifer Smith has been given approval to build an extension to her York Street, St. George?s home.
The DAB has ordered that the extension?s windows and doors be constructed of wood material.
