PALMS stopped Bacardi Bats 15-7 behind strong performances by John Simons and Dennis Vickers. Both players went four-for-four with Simons hitting a homer and driving in four runs while Vickers had two doubles and two RBI.
Mike Strohoffer went two-for-two with two RBI and Roger Cash two-for-three for the Bats. Charles Williams Grant was the winning pitcher and Ianthia Butler the loser.
The nightcap saw AICO dispose of Bobcats 20-5 in five innings. Montoya Lawrence weht three-for-three and Austin John two-for-four, both with four RBI. Sanford Seepersad was the winning pitcher and John Kempe the loser.

RUGBY RUG Renegades, the two-time defending champions of the Cunningham Seven-A-Side rugby competition, will be the team to beat when the annual event is held tomorrow at National Sports Club.
The 12 competing teams are split up into four pools, with Renegades I in pool one with Mariners II and Police III. Teachers I, Renegades II and Mariners III are in pool two, with Police I, Teachers II and Renegades III in pool three.
The fourth pool consists of Mariners I, Police II and Teachers III.
After the round-robin matches, which will take place between noon and 2.45 p.m., there will be the semifinals. The first is at 3.15, between the winners of pools one and three, and the second is at 3.48 between the winners of pools two and four.
The final is scheduled for 4.15, to be followed at 4.45 by the presentation of the trophy to the winning team.
Mini rugby is scheduled for noon today.
CRICKET CRI The Bermuda Cricket Board of Control has just received another order of the very popular Kwik Cricket kits.
From this new shipment Mike Collins of Argonaut Limited has again donated a set to each primary school not previously supplied.
The board is now planning to organise a Kwik Cricket Festival to be held around Easter next year with all primary schools invited to participate.
Other Kwik Cricket kits, plus extra balls and bats in different sizes, are available for sale at cost price to clubs and youth organisations. Interested groups should contact the BCBC office at 292-8958 for further details.
