Inflation has edged up to 3.5 percent sparked by rising fuel and power costs.

The latest Government statistics covering June showed a rise from the 3.4 percent posted in May.

Electricity rose by 3.4 percent while there was no change in propane gas and heating fuel.

Rent, food, clothing, tobacco and alcohol posted little or no change but elderly care services went up 4.8 percent.
