Goater?s men eye Forest double
Shaun Goater?s Southend head up to Nottingham Forest today, looking to complete their first double of the season.
After a defeat last week at the hands of then second-placed side Swansea, the Shrimpers will be aiming to bounce back with a victory that will maintain their stranglehold on a top three spot in League One.
Forest will be buoyed by the loan arrival of Nathan Tyson from Wycombe Wanderers but Southend boss Steve Tilson is hoping the youngster won?t boost the opposition too much.
?We played against them just over a month ago and got a 1-0 win but they have changed their formation since and got a couple of new players with Tyson making his debut, which will give them a lift,? Tilson told the club?s official website.
?We have just got to start well and that will be forgotten. If we stay strong for the first 15 minutes of the match the lift of Tyson coming in will stop. Squad wise we have got a few niggles but losing one match against Swansea doesn?t mean I will be making loads and loads of changes as we have a settled side.?
That settled side includes what is becoming a formidable front pairing of veteran Goater and rising star Freddy Eastwood, who can?t stop scoring after being left on the bench earlier in the season.
?Out of all the clubs Forest would be one to do the double over,? added Tilson.
?At the start of the season Forest were by far the biggest club in the league, although obviously they are not results wise at the moment, but resource wise.?
Meanwhile in the States, John Barry Nusum?s Philadelphia KiXX take on the reigning Major Indoor Soccer League champions Milwaukee Wave tonight at the Wachovia Spectrum and David Bascome?s Baltimore Blast are at home to the St. Louis Steamers.
