The Bermuda Union of Teachers is celebrating their 90th anniversary with a Breakfast Banquet at the Fairmont Southampton Resort. Keynote speakers will be Thulus Nxesi, General Secretary of the South African Democratic Teacher's Union and President of Education International. Bermuda Heart Foundation Heart Smart Month kicks off with a heart smart mystery walk - a classic 'whodunnit' or 'whatdunnit' in the form of the game Clue at the Botanical Gardens from 2 pm to 4 pm. $20 participation fee. Butterfield & Vallis 5K Run & Walk 2009. There is a 12 and under 2.7 K route, and a 13 and over 5 K route. All proceeds go to the Bermuda Union of Teachers Youth Development projects. Bermuda Spelldown 2009 finals at 7pm at Mount St. Agnes Academy at 6 pm.

Bermuda Reading Association will be hosting their annual reading conference from 8 am to 12.30 pm at the Hamilton Princess Fairmont Hotel. There will be workshops and presentations including one from Dr. Alan Farstrup, Executive Director of the Bermuda Reading Association. Dr. Farstrupp will be presenting awards at a gala evening event from 7 pm to 10 pm at the Hamilton Princess.
