The Botanical Society presents 'Herbal Remedies from Locally Grown Plants', a talk by Nell Johnston and Lisa Greene, 3.30 pm at the Visitors' Centre, the Botanical Gardens. The cafeteria and gift shop doors open at 3 pm. Admission: Members free, non-members $5 .

Bermuda Red Cross Rummage Sale from 9 am to 2 pm. All Proceeds to support Bermuda Red Cross.
The Bermuda Union of Teachers is celebrating their 90th anniversary with a Breakfast Banquet at the Fairmont Southampton Resort. Keynote speakers will be Thulus Nxesi, General Secretary of the South African Democratic Teacher's Union and President of Education International. Pre-breakfast cocktails 8 am to 9 am and breakfast banquet at 9 am. Attire- semi-formal. Tickets $50. Tickets available from BUT headquarters by December 15. Call 292-6515 to RSVP.

Bermuda Heart Foundation Heart Smart Month kicks off with a heart smart mystery walk - a classic 'whodunnit' or 'whatdunnit' in the form of the game Clue at the Botanical Gardens from 2 pm to 4 pm. $20 participation fee. Bermuda Spelldown 2009 finals at 7pm at Mount St. Agnes Academy at 6 pm.
Bermuda Reading Association will be hosting their annual reading conference from 8 am to 12.30 pm at the Hamilton Princess Fairmont Hotel. There will be workshops and presentations including one from Dr. Alan Farstrup, Executive Director of the Bermuda Reading Association. Dr. Farstrupp will be presenting awards at a gala evening event from 7 pm to 10 pm at the Hamilton Princess.

February 22
Bermuda Girl Guide Association annual Thinking Day Service and Parade at the Anglican Cathedral on Church Street at 3 pm. All are welcome. The parade will leave from the City Hall Car Park at approximately 2.30 pm.
March 7
Pembroke Rotary Club is holding their Annual Children's Fair on March 7 from 10 am to 5 pm at St Paul's Christian Education Centre Paget. Raffles, game stalls,train rides,food stall, baked goods, fun, fun, and more fun. The beneficiaries of this event will be Bermuda's Government Primary Schools and Adult Learning Schools.
