September 6, 2011Dear Sir,Much has been made of Government contracts being awarded to Dr Brown’s friends or “cronies”.I was recently informed that Correia Construction has completed a $2m contract at the hospital. The job has been completed and I understand that Bermuda Hospitals Board is happy with the job.Was your newspaper aware of this contract? Where were the stories about favouritism?Did the hospital award the contract to Correia because he is Dr Brown’s friend or because Dennis Correia gets the work done on time and usually on budget (ferry docks)?Maybe that’s why he got the contracts under the Brown administration!SENATOR LAVERNE FURBERTHamilton Parish
