Jonathan Kemp, 23, of Littleholme Lane, pleaded guilty to causing unnecessary suffering to a horse on November 20.

Kemp asked that a similar charged dating back to November 5 be taken into consideration.

Police prosecutor Sgt. Anthony Mouchette said when the horse's caretaker arrived at the stall with her teenaged daughter, she saw clothes hung over the stable door, Sgt. Mouchette said.

She saw a hand grab for the clothes and Kemp -- who was naked -- run out of the stables.

The caretaker found Kemp's identification in a wallet he left in the stable along with some of his clothes.

Sgt. Mouchette said the caretaker was worried about the horse so she took it to a veterinarian who discovered redness about the mare' genitals.

When Police later went to Kemp's residence, Kemp said he had taken his clothes off because they were wet from the rain.

He denied any sexual intentions when he touched the horse and said he stopped when he noticed the horse did not like it.

He added he was drunk at the time and did it out of curiosity.

Kemp said he apologised to the horse's owner and she accepted his apology.

Acting Senior Magistrate the Wor. Cheryl Ann Mapp told Kemp it was "distressing that we not only have to worry about our children but also our animals being safe''.

Mrs. Mapp released him on $800 bail with a like surety and ordered him to return to court on February 8 when the social inquiry report was expected to be completed.
