On the way to the championship, Wotton and Moniz defeated the teams of Sandy Sandhu and Graham Williams, Dennis Coyle and Dave McLean, Greg Falzone and Tony DeSilva and Robert Gaglio and Terry Southern.

Meanwhile, Steve Bremar defeated Falzone 3-1 in a singles semifinal game and will face Stephen Roberts in the final on Saturday night at Old Colony Club at 7.30 p.m. Roberts has been a finalist three of the last five years but is seeking his first championship, as is Bremar who is playing in his first final.

St. George's won the Second Division Swizzle Cup and have gained promotion to the First Division next season. Second Division play is now complete.

Police's Andy Wright is the division aggregate champion while St. George's player William Peniston had the season-high break of 29.

SAILING SLG Travis Burland continued his fine form on Sunday, taking four firsts and a second in the continued Optimist Dinghies series for the Oxford Cup.

Blustery easterly winds of between 10 to 15 knots provided near ideal conditions for the youngsters and made for interesting racing.

Bobby Beale, William Thompson and Jason Simons each forwarded challenges to Burland as all races were close affairs.

Good boat speed on the reaches and tight reaching and leeward mark roundings aided Burland immensely and allowed him to make up for any lost ground.

While Burland dominated the top spot in the five races and ended the day with three points, the battle for second was much closer as Beale (83 ) and Thompson (11) skirmished.

Burland now holds a commanding lead in the overall series at the half-way point with eight points compared to 201 for second placed Beale and Thompson's 233 .

DARTS DRT Jean Clark became the new singles champion when she downed Dawn Bealing 2-0 in the Women's League final.

The final victory completed a splendid day for Clark who earlier had shrugged off the challenges of Lucille Foggo (2-0), Judy Semos (2-1), Irene Patterson (2-0) and Terry Cartwright (2-0).

Bealing, meanwhile, earned her way to the final through triumphs over Agatha Dickinson (2-1), Stephanie Humphrey (2-0), Elizabeth Simons (2-0) and Mary Rosser (2-0).

SOFTBALL SOF Sandys Sports Club, Police and Snowballs each took 1-0 leads as their final series got underway on Monday night in the Commercial League.

Sandys defeated Kempe & Whittle 16-5 with Anthony DeSilva going five for five with five RBI, assisted by Mike Corday and Danny Cook who each registered four hits.

Meanwhile, Police found Wildcats much to their liking, blasting their opponents 15-6 with Timmy Hayward leading the charge with three hits.

The night's final game saw Snowballs beat Cock & Feather 16-11.
