Wunderbar! Regiment a hit in Germany
Thousands of people in Germany are getting a feel and a taste of Bermuda at the Musikchau der Nationen in the city of Bremen. The Bermuda Regiment Band and Corps of Drums, the Bermuda Islands Pipe Band, the Bermuda National Gombey Troupe and steel pan player Robert Symonds, are performing at the international event.
Capt. Wayne Smith yesterday said that the two performances the Bermuda contingent had given were well received and although the hall "was not packed" that he expected the weekend events would be. Two performances are slated for tonight and Sunday.
A Bermuda stall with tourism information, free Dark & Stormies, compliments of Goslings and Barritts, and posters and Bermuda flags has proved a hit with attendees. "We're getting a lot of attention with our Bermuda shorts and we are getting excellent exposure for Bermuda in a market the Minister wants to penetrate," Capt. Smith said.
