Goslings Brothers Ltd. plans to open up two duty-free outlets at the Airport.

The company has applied to the Planning Department to set up a duty-free liquor, tobacco and gift outlet in the US departures area. Another shop will be set up in the international departures area. Currently duty-free liquor purchases can only be bought at stores outside the Airport at least the day before departure. The stores then transport the liquor to the Airport where it's picked up by the customer.

Prior to the start of this year customers had to purchase their liquor in lots of two to five bottles. Charles Gosling, vice president of marketing, said that requirement was "quietly'' dropped this year.

When the new stores are opened customers can still make their duty-free purchases at Gosling outlets around the Island. They will then pick up their order from the airport outlets.

"We are hoping to be able to double duty free traffic,'' Mr. Gosling said.
