Butterfield raffle raises $5,000 for Salvation Army
Butterfield Bank presented The Salvation Army with a $5,003 donation with the proceeds of its staff Holiday Raffle ticket sales.
During December, Butterfield employees had the opportunity to purchase $1 raffle tickets for a chance to win prizes including vacation days, travel vouchers, retail gift certificates and Apple products. All the funds raised through ticket sales were donated to The Salvation Army.
Donna Harvey Maybury, executive vice-president, Human Resources, said: “Our goal in coordinating this initiative was to create a bit of holiday cheer and give back to our employees who have worked so hard during the year.
“Because our employees are always looking for opportunities to help in the community, it seemed fitting to donate the proceeds of the raffle ticket sales to The Salvation Army. In the end, what we anticipated would be a donation of about $1,500 turned out to be more than $5,000, and I would like to thank and commend our employees for their generosity.”
Major Shawn Critch from the Salvation Army said: “We are extremely grateful for the $5,000 donation. Special thanks to the Butterfield staff members who supported in such large numbers. The donation represents the shared value and commitment of both the Army and Butterfield staff to the social needs of our community.”
