House-sit service set for launch
Planning to go on vacation this summer but need someone to feed the dog and water the plants?
Forget boarding the cat and having a friend stop by ? Bermuda?s first professional house sitting service, bedvalet.com, is set to open on May 12.
A staff member will open the house, feed the pets and water the plants and even collect your car from the Airport and return it for your arrival home.
Ralph Saints, owner of Atlantic Imports and bermudagrocer.com, said the new business is designed to help people have a worry-free vacation. This week he sent out e-mails and launched bdavalet.com to advertise before the start of holiday season.
A spokesperson for bdavalet.com, Arthur Adams, said Mr. Saints who is a former Policeman, has security training. ?Your house is in safe hands,? he said. ?Eventually we are hoping to expand the business to employ reliable people that will cover different sections of the Island.?
Sign up and booking forms are available online. Mr. Adams said the company will contact residents prior to their departure to arrange a meeting to get detailed information about the house-sit.
