January 21, 2012Dear Sir,My view is that all PRC’s should be granted Bermudian status. In the 1970s, residents were granted status after three years residency. The PLP wanted to stretch the qualifying period to five years. Then some British politician decreed that only those registered to vote in the 1973 election would be accorded the vote. Residents had to be here before 1989 in order to qualify for PRC status. Surely they’re entitled to full status. They would be anywhere else in the world. Many have become fed up with the situation and left. How does that help Bermuda? The UBP didn’t have the cojones to challenge and to reverse this unsupportable decision. Hopefully OBA will and perhaps some PRC’s might return.ARCY DUBYAPaget
