A Police spokeswoman said: "With the holiday season, and the hosting of office Christmas parties, Police are again appealing to members of the public to act responsibly.

"If you drink to excess, don't drive. And if you drive, please don't drink.'' In the House of Assembly on Friday, Transport Minister Dr. Ewart Brown also encouraged motorists to be safe this Christmas and nominate a designated driver if they were drinking.

But he said there were signs that the message had been getting through.

He said: "There are fewer fatalities this year than in many, many years. I urge the public to continue to be safe and to be responsible.'' Reminder to voters Premier Jennifer Smith has issued a reminder to voters that new Parliamentary Registration rules mean they must re-register when moving or changing names.

After annual registration was abandoned last year, Bermudians have been required to notify the Parliamentary Registrar of any change of address within 28 days of moving.

A recent mass mailing of political materials had brought to light the problem after a number of the letters were returned because the address on election rolls was not current.

Ms Smith said: "When we removed the need for annual Parliamentary Registration, persons on the list became responsible under the new regulations, for notifying the Parliamentary Registrar of any change of address within 28 days of moving.

"I urge voters to make sure that their registration information is correct,'' she added.

Pharmacy cash taken A large amount of cash was stolen from Collector's Hill Apothecary on Friday morning from an unlocked safe.

The pharmacist noticed a man acting suspiciously behind the counter near the rest rooms shortly after 10 a.m.

The theft from the unlocked office was then discovered.

Cash was also taken from an Ord Road home, Paget, on Friday and from an office in the Imperial Building in Church Street overnight on Friday.

A chocolate red Pitbull terrier was reported stolen from a Middle Road, Southampton home on Friday.

DINGHY STOLEN CRM Dinghy stolen A 14-foot dinghy was stolen from its Lodge Point, Sandys, mooring on Friday.

The registration number of the white boat which has a blue bottom is painted on the front -- it is 729.

The complainants reported that both men's and women's pieces were taken some time around the beginning of the month.
