Zuill backs Colts to advance past Dandy Town
Devonshire Colts striker Aljame Zuill is confident his team can advance past cross-town rivals Dandy Town in the preliminary round of the FA Cup, writes Derek deChabert.
The only other all Premier Division clash in yesterday's draw at Bermuda Football Association (BFA) headquarters sees Somerset Trojans take on Southampton Rangers. All matches will be played on November 8.
Former Bermuda international Zuill, who has not played for the past two months due to a groin injury, believes the five-time champions must build on their recent win over PHC and aspire for a good cup run.
"It's a good draw, we just need to keep going how we are now," said Zuill. "Everyone thinks they will run over us but we just need to get chances and take advantage of them.
"Expectations rise after every win, but we have to stay grounded and go and get the job done. We're a historical team when it comes to the FA Cup so we will look to make it deep in the competition. One win can do a lot for a team. The secret is to try and identify the other team's weakness and then expose them - that's what we did against PHC."
Zuill said he was hoping to make his return to action in tomorrow's Premier Division clash against archrivals Devonshire Cougars at the Rec.
Yesterday's draw also produced three all First Division matches. X'Roads will face off against Prospect, while Young Men's Social Club will look to dump Paget out at the first hurdle. New-boys Robin Hood will play St. George's.
The PDL Martonmere Cup preliminary match will see Dandy Town play St. David's on November 7 at a venue yet to be confirmed.
FA Cup preliminary round draw:
