Dockyard goes old school tonight

Old School: Party the night away at the Clock Tower in Dockyard tonight where the hits of the past will be played.

A musical explosion is planned for Dockyard tonight that aims to take residents back a couple of decades.Tunes from the 1970s, 80s and 90s will feature as part of Wedco’s Dockyard Old School Explosion.Those who attend can expect to hear old favourites such as Frankie Smith’s ‘Double Dutch Bus’ from 1981, ‘The Butt’ performed by the group EU, and ‘Just Got Paid’ by Johnnie Kemp.DJs will be Malcolm (Lethal Weapon) Smith, Ice man and DJ Cavon, and the band for the evening will be ‘Working Title’. James Richardson is the special guest artist.“There will be entertainment under the big tent and you can dance the night away in your heels on the dance floor,” said organiser Andrew Phillips of Global Arts. “Tables can be reserved. In case you’re hungry, don’t worry. We got you covered. Food vendors will be on site. There will be a full mega bar service with special drink prices.“Let’s welcome the Carnival Cruiseline ship Fantasy to Bermuda. We’d like close out the summer by saying ‘thank you’ to Wedco, the cruise ships, the business operators in Dockyard and the people of Bermuda.”The event starts at 8pm and will be held next to the Clocktower in Dockyard on the North lawn. Admission is free.
