An motorcyclist was last night in intensive care after a road crash in Southampton. Medics said the injured 29-year-old was critical but stable in hospital after his bike was in collision with a car on Middle Road, near the junction with Heron?s Nest Drive.

As reported in yesterday?s the rider was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital with suspected head injuries after Thursday?s 7 p.m. crash. The Southampton resident also broke a leg. The driver of the Toyota Yaris car involved in the crash, a 51-year-old Warwick woman, had a minor arm injury. Police said that before the accident the Yaris was heading east on Middle Road when the motorcycle, travelling in the opposite direction, apparently crossed into the eastbound lane.
