At White Hill, Sandys Parish last Thursday they arrested three men for obstruction under The Misuse of Drugs Act, violently resisting arrest, and attempting to rescue persons from lawful custody.

Police said they visited the area in response to complaints from area residents about drug activity.

Cycle Squad officers on patrol on Wesley Street in Pembroke, last Friday evening also arrested two youths for stealing cycle parts and possessing equipment used in stealing cycles and cycle parts.

BAG SNATCHED CRM Bag snatched Handbag snatchers were on the prowl again over the weekend, and claimed a visitor as a victim, Police said yesterday.

A visitor was riding her livery cycle on South Shore Road, Southampton on Saturday afternoon when two men on an auxiliary cycle drove past her and took her handbag.

Shortly after that incident, Police arrested four men at different locations in Southampton and elsewhere in connection with the offence.

VISITORS ROBBED CRM Visitors robbed Visitors became the victims of two separate robberies that occurred during the weekend.

Police said a 73-year-old visitor was walking on Church Street with his wife on Sunday afternoon when he was shoved to the ground by a man.

The man then took the victim's wallet before fleeing.

Police have asked that anyone who may have seen the robbery, the events leading up to it, the events immediately following it or who may have information leading to the identification of the offender to visit or call Central CID at Hamilton Police Station on 299-4525.

Police were also investigating an attempted robbery that occurred on the same day.

A 49-year-old female visitor told Police she was using her video camera from the rear of a livery cycle on North Shore Road, Hamilton Parish when a group of youths demanded the camera.

When the woman refused, the youths attempted to "forcibly'' take it from her, Police said.

The woman successfully resisted and drove off.

Police subsequently arrested a 19-year-old St. George's man.

ATTACK DENIED CTS Attack denied A 34-year-old man admitted violently resisting arrest but denied two charges of assaulting Police when he appeared in Magistrates' Court yesterday.

Robin James Stovell, of Pembroke, will be tried on June 1 for the two assault charges as well as charges of possession of an offensive weapon and impaired driving. All offences are alleged to have occurred in Sandys Parish on Sunday.

Stovell admitted charges of threatening behaviour, violently resisting arrest and driving without a licence in the same incident.

The Wor. Cheryl-Ann Mapp fined him $125 for no auxiliary cycle licence and set bail at $800.

DREAM COME TRUE THR Dream come true Members of the public will have opportunity to audition for a local production of the Broadway play "Dream Girls''.

Auditions for the play, produced by the theatre company Close Encounters, will be held on May 5 from 6 to 8.30 p.m. and on May 6 from 10 a.m. to 2.30 p.m.

ASSAULTS PROBED CRM Assaults probed Police responded to several reports of assaults over the weekend.

In one of the incidents, a 33-year-old Pembroke man inflicted injuries on a 40-year-old female acquaintance in Pembroke.

In a separate incident, Police arrested a 19-year-old St. George's man after he caused facial and head injuries to a 39-year-old Hamilton Parish man during a fight on Cottage Hill Lane.
