and struck a stone pillar in Sandys.

The accident occurred just after 8 p.m. on Saturday at the junction of Cockburn Road and Pender Road.

Police say the cyclist, who was travelling east out of Dockyard behind a friend, lost control as he approached a slight bend near Cut Bridge.

The man received hospital treatment, but was later allowed home. His bike was damaged.

Also on Saturday, a 16-year-old motorcyclist suffered bruising to both legs in a collision with a car on Middle Road, Warwick, at the junction with Morgan's Road.

Police say the bike was travelling east as the car -- driven by a 44-year-old Warwick man -- exited Morgan's Road onto Lindo's car park.

The collision occurred just before 6.30 p.m. and charges were pending, said Police spokeswoman Evelyn James Barnett.

CABLE RULING RESERVED CTS BUC Cable ruling reserved A judge has reserved his decision on another round in the dispute between Bermuda CableVision Ltd. and the Performing Rights Society.

The society -- which represents musicians from around the world -- claims CableVision owes it royalties for broadcasting its music.

Yesterday the society's attorney, Mark Diel, sought to strike out part of CableVision's defence in the case.

The hearing before Puisne Judge Vincent Meerabux was held in chambers. Lawyer Jeffrey Elkinson represented CableVision.

"The hearing was confidential so all I can say is that judgment was reserved,'' Mr. Diel told The Royal Gazette .

He added he had no idea when it would be handed down.

The Performing Rights Society filed suit in 1992.

AMERICAN FINED $600 CTS American fined $600 A short vacation cost a New York man $600 after he was caught with cannabis in his underwear.

Roosevelt Anderson, 20, appeared in Magistrates' Court last week where he pleaded guilty to possession of cannabis.

The court was told that he arrived at the Airport last Saturday and was searched by Customs officers.

Sgt. Phil Taylor, prosecuting, said the officers found 5.82 grams of cannabis in a zip-lock bag inside his underwear.

Duty defence counsel Juan Woolfe said Anderson came to Bermuda to "get away from the stresses and strains of the situation in New York''.

"He realises it was a very grave mistake and is deeply remorseful for what he has done,'' said Mr. Woolfe.

Senior Magistrate Will Francis fined Anderson $600.

WOMAN RIDER INJURED AC Woman rider injured A collision with a stray cat landed a 20-year-old woman in hospital last week.

Police reported that the woman was riding west along Barrack Hill, St.

George's just after 7 p.m. on Thursday when the cat crossed the cycle's path and the two collided.

The rider fell to the road and suffered a gash to the bottom of her chin and abrasions to her upper lip and right hand.

She was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for treatment.

DRUGS CHRGED DENIED CTS Drugs charge denied A 24-year-old Pembroke man yesterday pleaded not guilty in Magistrates' Court to possession of cocaine intended for supply.

Craig Tucker, of Glebe Road, also denied possessing an offensive weapon -- namely a machete -- without reasonable excuse. He was bailed for $500 to return to court for trial on May 23.
