BSX slips from record high
The Royal Gazette/Bermuda Stock Exchange Index's record setting pace of the last two weeks slowed yesterday as it lost nine points to close at 3,622.51.
The drop came as KeyTech Ltd. ? the parent company of Mobility, BTC, Logic and part owner of Cablevision and QuoVadis ? lost 45 cents to close at $10.30 on volume of just 200 shares.
KeyTech was the only stock to change price.
Butterfield Bank held at $43.50 on volume of 5,618 shares and Belco Holdings Ltd. stuck at $41 on volume of 4,800.
A total of 10,618 shares worth $443,238.25 traded.
The Bermuda Insurance Index, which tracks publicly listed Bermuda-based insurers, fell 6.32 points or 0.55 percent to close at 1,142.19 as most companies' share prices slipped.
Among the decliners were surety guaranty insurers Assured Guaranty, down 1.26 percent to $21.87 and Primus, down 1.09 percent to $11.78 and ACE, down 1.02 percent to $44.69.
RenaissanceRe, whose shares have been battered in recent months, continued to recover, gaining 0.44 percent to close at $44.90.
