ABIC seeks out its alumni

The Association of Bermuda International Companies (ABIC) has issued a call for past recipients of the International Companies Education Award to create an alumni association.

Now known as the ABIC Education Award, it is the most comprehensive college scholarship programme for Bermudian students.

Students are given two-year, $30,000 scholarships to pursue undergraduate degrees at accredited four year degree granting colleges or universities in studies connected primarily to international business to support the Island's infrastructure

"The ABIC scholarship programme is 26 years old, and we felt an alumni association is long overdue," ABIC Education Awards chairman Roy Fellowes said.

"There are hundreds of people working in Bermuda who benefited from the scholarships provided by international companies and we would like to bring them together on a regular basis. Over the last seven years alone 150 Bermudian students have been supported by ABIC."

ABICEA, ICEA or ICD Alumni are urged to contact Erin Lovell at the Chamber of Commerce 295-4201 or or ABICbcc.bm to join the new association.
