Shop planned for Somers Wharf

A carriage museum in St. George?s could become a shop and offices should a Planning application by Wilkinson Estate Ltd. prove to be successful.

The application sought a change of use of No. 22 Water Street from a carriage museum into retail and office space.

?The upper two floors of a yellow-brick, former-warehouse on Somers Wharf will become office space,? Wilkinson Estate?s planning consultant David Summers said.

?The carriage museum was closed a number of years ago. And having now got the building rebuilt after Hurricane Fabian, we are looking for a change of use.

?The ground floor is being occupied by the Carriage House restaurant,? he said. ?The portion of former museum that extends along the Water Street frontage could be turned into a shop.?
