Developers have submitted plans for a 71-condominium complex in North Hamilton.

Atrium Gardens Development wants to build the six-storey building near the corner of Ewing Street and Court Street.

Three two-storey buildings plus workshops will be demolished to make way for the development, which includes 66 motorcycle and 36 car parking spaces.

In a letter accompanying the Planning application, agent The Design Group says: "This is non-luxury accommodation which is intended to be affordable, totally securable, private and respectable."

The one-bedroom apartments and studios will be rented out to singles and couples, with balconies offering "pleasant views from every suite".

The 13,527 sq ft complex includes a central communal courtyard, a basement and 71 private storage lockers. It promises "generous green areas for a city site".

Atrium Gardens Development and The Design Group were unavailable for comment yesterday.
